In order to master this technique, you will need a coach.  After a few hours of coached sessions, you should have enough experience to do a full session on your own.  Coaches aim to equip the student with enough experience to be able to work alone indefinitely if desired.    The aim of this book is to support the student of breathwork in between coached sessions.  The accompanying CD can be used as a ‘virtual coach’ for solitary sessions.

EXERCISES

TO PRACTICE YOUR CONNECTED BREATHING BETWEEN SESSIONS, try moving smoothly around the Three Breaths.
For instance, you could start off breathing slow and full, then make it faster, then shallower, until you are panting. Then take it down into slow and full again.

TRY A CYCLE OF 20 CONNECTED BREATHS: This consists of 4 short breaths, just natural length, followed by 1 long breath, as deep as you can get it. Then repeat this cycle 4 times, giving you 20 breaths altogether. This brings you into present time in your body. You can do it many times a day.

Until you are experienced, do not do it whilst driving!
